The Qur’an expresses that soon after the legacy of a particular messenger, the revelation is adulterated and loses many of its fundamental teachings. Many deranged innovations are added in the name of the messenger and the revelation.
In between the period of this state and the period of reformation in the form of a new messenger and/or revelation, the followers are divided into two categories; one inadvertently accepts and follows all the teachings of the adulterated revelation and suspends the intellect in the face of the illogical and devilish innovations. The other simply finds the illogical and devilish teachings within the scripture enough to evaluate that the revelation is not in it’s original state and has been seriously compromised; and so they follow their own moral compass governed by their intellect. They often face extreme societal pressure, ridicule, persecution and even death. Many of Muhammad’s relatives and tribesmen, including himself, belonged to this latter category.
It is true that the original text of the Qur’an has been protected to a high degree possible for humans, however, satan has utilised priesthood, blind adherence, commentaries, extra-Qur’anic literatures etc to bury the rational and straightforward teachings under irrational and bizarre opinions and hearsays. Henceforth, history repeats itself; and the age old war of truth and falsehood continues.
Though the Qur’an is a text that can withstand logical scrutiny, the eisegetical interpolations that have crept in in the minds of the followers through exegesis and extra-Qur’anic literatures needs serious rejection; you must decide whether you belong to the category that has suspended the use of the intellect and blind follows all that the clerics spew, or you belong to those that simply finds the illogical and devilish teachings of the clerics enough to evaluate that it is falsehood, and so you ultimately follow your own moral compass governed by only the Qur’an guided by your intellect.
