Netflix’s Messiah

24th January 2020

It is clear that Netflix is tapping into the Muslim market with an upcoming savvy series called the ‘Messiah’. It is yet to be released, but the trailer alone has already triggered a massive religious delirium amongst Muslims. A big bravo to the Netflix’s team on their successful marketing skills; then again religious subjects are easy to predict.

It is pitiful, and fascinating at the same time, to witness the subsequent derangement of a people from the lay person to the learned. It implies that when a group of people completely believe in something, and suspend any intellectual intervention, it can be easy as manipulating a few trigger points in the trailer, that will easily hold them in a grip of shock!

Once the series is released by Netflix, I will write my review on it, and share it here if I learn anything substantial from it. My hunch right now, is that the story is based on a con-artist or the making of a cult founder taking advantage of religious beliefs, and since it is situated in a politically sensitive region, the CIA decides to monitor and take a closer look at the developments.
For the time being, as far as the teachings of the Qur’an goes, there is no second coming of Christ and there is no ecclesiastical bogeyman known as the anti-Christ (Dajjal); these are Christian doctrines injected into Muslim theology via Hadithic interpolation.
